Cement dispatches in Pakistan totalled 35.5Mt in the period July 2015 to May 2016, up 10.55 per cent on the corresponding period of last fiscal year, the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) has announced. During first 10 months of the current FY15-16, the Pakistan cement industry exported 5.05Mt of cement and earned export revenue of US$274.34m compared to 6.64Mt at US$382.39m in July 2014-April 2015. Cherat Packaging introduce polypropylene sacks

Cherat Packaging Pakistan and BSW Machinery have introduced 65g polypropylene sacks to hold 50kg of cement. This new sack technology offers a potential reduction in weight of 20 per cent compared to standard sack weight. BSW said that more than half of the cement factories in Pakistan have trialled and approved the polypropylene sacks, and now use them commercially.

Fauji Cement Company Ltd (Pakistan) has reportedly halted production due to the collapse of the raw material silo at its Jhang Bahtar cement plant in Attock District, Punjab.
