UltraTech Cement receives environmental approval for expansion

UltraTech Cement has received environmental clearance for its expansion plans for two of its plants in Madhya Pradesh. The Environment Ministry has given clearance for UltraTech to its clinker plant from 3.59Mt to 6.2Mta and its cement plant from 4Mta to 10.33Mta. The company also plans to expand its captive power plant from 46MW to 122MW. The plants are located in Damodarpura and Khor villages in Neemuch district of Madhya Pradesh.

FLSmidth secures Kalina power plant contract in UAE

The Directors of Wasabi Energy have announced that the company's Kalina Cycle licensee, FLSmidth has secured a contract to install its second Kalina Cycle power plant utilising waste heat from a major cement plant. Al Jouf Cement secures loan for expansion, Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabian cement producer, Al Jouf Cement, said it has signed and agreement with Saudi British Bank (SABB) for a SAR350m (US$93.3m) five-year Islamic facility. The financing will form part of the funds needed for the construction of a second production line and  dedicated  power plant.
