The 11 cement companies fined by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) last year will be forced pay 10 per cent of the total amount levied in the June quarter of this year. Caribbean Cement Company Ltd (CCCL) is set to increase cement prices for the third time in 2013, this time due to the depreciation of the Jamaican dollar against the US dollar. HeidelbergCement India Ltd (HCL) has increased cement prices by INR2-3 per 50kg bag, its chief executive officer and managing director, Ashish Guha told local media. During the first 10 months (July 2012-April 2013) Pakistan exported 6.943Mt on revenues of US$469.02m, compared to 7.016Mt at US$390.42m in the corresponding period of last year. Three of the largest cement producers in the Philippines have begun submitting documents to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to explain recent rises in cement prices.
