Saudi Arabia's Minister of Commerce and Industry, Dr Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, has approved plans to establish a new cement producer in Riyadh City. Al Jouf Cement halts production for maintenance, Saudi Arabia

Al Jouf Cement is to halt production for two weeks for unscheduled maintenance work, the company said in a statement on the Saudi bourse website. The cement producer will stop production from 17 June to 30 June according and the maintenance process is expected to cost about SAR6m (US$1.6m) which will be reflected in its second quarter financial results. Saudi Arabia: Tabuk Cement refused fuel for second line

Tabuk Cement Co has announced that it has been refused the fuel needed to operate its planned second line. The company has been informed by Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources that it will not receive the fuel needed to power the line, but added that it remains in negotiations with the ministry. Medina Cement begins trial production of new grinding plant

Newly-listed Saudi Arabian cement manufacturer Medina Cement said it has started trial production at its new grinding plant. The new facility has a capacity of 130tph and the trial period will last 2-3 months. Medina Cement offered 94.6 million shares, or 50 per cent of its capital, in an IPO in September 2012.

Hail Cement increases quarterly net loss, Saudi Arabia

Saudi cement producer Hail Cement Co has reported a net loss of SAR13.9m (US$3.7m) for the first quarter of 2013, double the loss recorded in the same period a year ago of SAR6.3m.
