Saudi cement sales fall 9% in January

Cement sales in Saudi Arabia declined by nine per cent in January 2019 when compared with sales in the previous year. Sales volumes of companies listed on the Tadawul fell 9.3 per cent YoY to 3.7Mt, according to a monthly report by Yamama Cement.  Cement stockpiles increased to 1.12Mt from 1.05Mt. Saudi producers sees sales drop 16% in August 2017

The sales of Saudi cement producers fell 15.5 per cent to 3.72Mt in August 2017 when compared to 4.4Mt reported in August 2016. Total production in August reached 3.79Mt, down YoY from 4.3Mt, according to Yamama Cement Co. Cement inventories rose 11.3 per cent YoY to 1.17Mt from 1.05Mt in the year-ago period. Southern Province Cement starts trial operations of new line

Southern Province Cement (SPC) on Monday launched trial operations of a third production line at its plant in Tuhama, Saudi Arabia, the company said in a bourse filing. Without disclosing any financial details, SPC said the new production line will have a daily capacity of 5000t. The trial period will last about four months.

Southern Province signs contract for power plant expansion, Saudi Arabia

Southern Province Cement Co (SPCC) has signed a contract with Wartsilla for the expansion of the former’s power generating plant at the Tahama works. The contract was signed by HH Prince Abdullah bin Mosa’ad bin Abdulrahman Al-Saud, SPCC chairman, with Wartsilla to add four diesel units operating by heavy fuel with a total capacity of 32MW.
