TCC warns on full-year net loss

TCC International Holdings Ltd said it expects to swing to a net loss for 2015 from a net profit of HKD2.05bn (US$264.5m) in the previous year. The cement producer said the expected loss was due to a 26 per cent decline in the average selling price of its cement products and a weakening Chinese yuan against the US dollar during the year. Asia Cement plans to raise convertible debt to gain full control of China Shanshui Cement. TCC International to raise HK$3.63bn in rights issue

TCC International Holdings Ltd is seeking to raise HKD3.63bn (US$468m) in a rights issue to fund acquisitions and for general working capital. The company said Monday it plans to sell up to 1.65 billion rights shares at HK$2.2 each in the proportion of one rights share for every two existing shares held. The offer price represents a 25.17 per cent discount to its latest trading price of HK$2.94 before it halted trading Monday. The company resumed trading today.

Bangladesh, Indonesia and Taiwan remained among the largest importers of Vietnamese clinker and cement in the first quarter of this year, according to the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade. Bangladesh accounted for the largest amount with 1.83Mt of cement worth US$70.13m, followed by Indonesia with 828,317t worth US$37.1m and Taiwan ranked third with 272,396t worth US$11.71m. In the first seven months of this year, Vietnam earned US$563.15 from exporting 13.1Mt of clinker and cement, up 24 and 20.4 per cent in value and volume terms, respectively.  Indonesia, Taiwan and Malaysia were the top importers of Vietnamese exports during the period, according to figures from the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade.
