Bolivia: Yacuses expected to produce cement in December

Work on the 0.87Mta Yacuses cement plant, owned by Itacamba Cemento, in the Germán Busch province of Bolivia, 590km from Santa Cruz, has been completed by 70 per cent, according to the latest reports in the local press. First clinker is expected to be produced in November, with first cement leaving the production line in December. Equipment for the US$220m works was delivered by China-based Tianjin Cement Industry Design & Research Institute.

Itacamba will start building its new cement plant in Yacuses, Bolivia, on 13 May when civil works on the project commence. In April, heavy equipment will roll onto the terrain to prepare the 7ha site for construction. The Yacuses works reflects an investment of US$200m. Bolivia: gas deal for Yacuses plant

A cement plant in Yacuses, Bolivia, being constructed by Itacamba has received government authorisation to take delivery of natural gas to fire its new kiln line. Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) will deliver 250,000m3 as well as a US$15m-long pipeline which will be connected to Brazil, according to the agreement with YPFB.
