GB sales of heavy-side building materials slump in 2Q20

The latest statistics released by the Mineral Products Association (MPA) show that sales of heavy-side building materials, including aggregates, ready-mix concrete (RMC), asphalt and mortar saw unprecedented declines during the 2Q20. Cemex's Lloseta cement plant to become an aggregates facility

Cemex's closed cement plant in Lloseta, in Mallorca, Spain, has been passed by the Balearic Environment Commission to be adapted into an aggregates plant. Proposals for the site had been invited in May 2019, when the government made the site a Strategic Industrial Project. Romania's competition authority is to analyse LafargeHolcim's acquisition of Romanian precast concrete producer Somaco.
