UAE: Ras Al Khaimah sees 3Q16 profit fall of 85% YoY

Ras Al Khaimah Cement reported a fall of 84.7 per cent YoY in profits during 3Q16, according to a bourse statement. Earnings in the third quarter decreased to AED747,710 (US$203,520) in 3Q16 from AED4.88m the year before. In the January-September 2016 period profits amounted to AED7.78m, up 6.1 per cent when compared with a profit of AED7.33m in 9M15.

Turkish cement manufacturers Mardin Cimento, Adana Cimento, Unye Cimento, Bolu Cimento and Aslan Cimento have reported their third-quarter results for the July-September 2016 period. In the first nine months of 2016, Indonesia’s PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa noted a 12 per cent YoY fall in sales to IDR11.3trn (US$866m). The company’s net profit of the period slipped 2.2 per cent to IDR3.15trn while the cost of sales was down 7.2 per cent YoY to IDR6.6trn.

Dewan Cement Ltd (DCL) posted a net profit of PKR268m (US$2.55m) for the quarter ended 30 September, a 61.4 per cent increase YoY from the PKR166m registered last year. On a stand-alone basis, JK Cement’s net profit was reported at INR410m (US$6.14m) for the July-September quarter, a 182 per cent increase from the INR145.4m net profit recorded in the same period last year. Publicly-listed Holcim Indonesia reported 5.3 per cent sales growth YoY to IDR6.91trn (US$530m) in the first nine months of 2016. Indonesia: Semen Baturaja 9M16 net profit down 34% YoY

PT Semen Baturaja announced a near-34 per cent fall in January-September 2016 net profit from 9M15 to IDR174.74bn (US$13.4m) from IDR264.66bn. The drop in net profit was attributed to the rise in the cost of goods at a time when revenues increased only marginally. Revenues in the first nine months of 2016 edged up to IDR1.04trn from IDR1.03trn in 9M15.

India: ACC reports 10% fall in cement deliveries in 3Q16

Dangote reported a revenue of NGN442bn (US$1.4bn) for the nine months ended 30 September 2016, representing a 21 per cent YoY increase from NGN365bn in 9M15.
