Nova Cimangola’s new clinker line enters service

Nova Cimangola has inaugurated its new 2Mta clinker line in Cacuaco, enabling the country to become self-sufficient in clinker production. The expansion raises the capacity of the plant, which sits on an 687ha site, to 3.8Mta. The project represents an investment of US$300m. Around 220 new jobs were created for the operation of the works with 85 per cent filled by local people.

Algeria’s GICA to produce 20Mta of cement by 2019-20

Algeria’s Groupe Industriel des Ciments d’Algérie (GICA) will increase its production to 20Mta by 2019-20, said company spokesperson Azzeddine Asfirane. The increase in output will be possible due to the expansion of the company’s cement works at Chlef, Ain El Kebira and Zahana and the commissioning of two new cement works at Sigus (Oum El Bouaghi) and Béchar. Cal & Cemento Sur doubles capacity

Grupo Gloria has announced that the expansion of the Cal & Cemento Sur plant in Caracoto-Juliaca, Puno in southern Peru is in full swing. The project will double the current 1000tpd capacity following a US$80m investment. The upgraded plant is expected to come online at the end of this year. Cal & Cemento Sur will dispatch its product, Cal Viva, to the mining sector.

Cementos Molins to raise capacity by 4.4Mta

In the next three years Cementos Molins plans to invest EUR350m to increase its capacity by 4.4Mta. The company currently has projects in Argentina, Colombia and Bangladesh. Elementia invests US$250m in Mexican cement plant

Elementia anounced it will invest US$250m in the expansion of its Tula cement plant in Hidalgo, Mexico. The project will see capacity at the works rise to 1.5Mta. The contract for the design, equipment supply, construction, installation and commissioning of the 3000tpd clinker plant was awarded to Fives FCB via its subsidiary Trituradora.
