Penna Cement enters freight LTTC with South Central Railway

India-based Penna Cement Industries signed a long-term tariff contract (LTTC) with South Central Railway (SCR) to transport freight at a fixed rate. The five-year scheme will provide long-term stability and certainty in freight tariff rates to Penna Cement. Paraguay's Industria Nacional de Cemento (INC) has awarded the Sanfil GT consortium, represented by Christian Harrison Paleari, the contract for the supply of 24,000t of petcoke at a price of US$299/t. Jidong Cement has renewed its coal contract with Mechel, according to the Russian metals and mining company. Mechel will supply Jidong Cement with up to 2Mt of thermal coal mined at the company’s South Yakutia facilities, Elgaugol and Yakutugol Holding Co. Anhui Conch has signed a contract worth CNY78.38m (US$12.38m) with its sister company, Conch Design, for the provision of engineering services to what the company describes as “certain projects”. The contract reportedly covers services such as engineering design and/or technical upgrading, including clinker production lines, cement grinding mills, aggregate, commercial concrete and residue heat electricity generation projects. Chinese cement producer Jidong Cement has awarded a 3Mt coal supply contract to Russian mining company Mechel. "Over the year Mechel will supply up to 3Mt of steam coal mined at LLC Elgaugol's Elga Open Pit Mine and JSC Yakutugol's Neryungrinsky Open Pit Mine,” said the Russian mining company in a statement.
