Pakistan cement export revenue continues to fall in 1QFY17

The export revenue of cement from Pakistan during the first three months of current financial year (July to September 2017) recorded a YoY fall of 17.84 per cent and 18.89 per cent in terms of quantity and value in dollars, respectively, according to data released by Federal Bureau of Statistics, Government of Pakistan. Cement consumption in Peru advanced 3.8 per cent YoY from 0.82Mt in September 2016 to 0.851Mt one year later, according to data from Asocem, the country's cement association. Total dispatches increased 2.9 per cent YoY to 0.884Mt in September 2017 from 0.86Mt in the year-ago period. This includes a 14 per cent drop in cement exports to 33,000t. Argentina's demand sees 11% rise in 9M17

Argentina’s cement producers delivered 1,121,311t of cement in September 2017, up 12.6 per cent YoY and 0.8 per cent MoM, according to the country’s cement association, AFCP. Domestic supply was complemented by 10,122t of imports, more than doubling the 4900t imported in September 2016 and seeing a 10.1 per cent MoM increase. Vietnam's cement and clinker consumption rises in 9M17

The total consumption of cement and clinker from Vietnam cement producers grew six per cent to 59.27Mt in the first nine months of this year, reports the Ministry of Construction. Egypt’s cement exports rose 88 per cent during the first nine months of 2017, reaching around US$72m compared to US$38m last year, its building industries export council said on Sunday. In the first half of 2017 cement production in the Dominican Republic reached 2,612,099t, according to data released by the Dominican Central Bank. Vietnamese market grows 6% YoY in 9M17

Vietnamese cement producers sold an estimated 59.27Mt of cement in the first nine months of this year, according to the country’s Ministry of Construction. This represents a six per cent YoY rise and 74 per cent of its 2017 target. Around 45.28Mt of cement were sold in the domestic market, which expanded by four per cent YoY. Some 13.99Mt were exported. In September, domestic sales remained stable YoY at 5.2Mt with exports reported to reach 1.45Mt.
