Singapore-based Credera has announced that it will invest US$20m in a stake in a new 5000tpd cement plant in Myanmar, Deal Street Asia reports. Hengya Cement, a subsidiary of China's Hengyuan International Engineering Group, has announced that it will build a new cement plant in Tanga on Tanzania's northeast coast, reports website China.org.cn. A senior official at Lake Cement Ltd has confirmed that the company still plans to establish a US$150m cement plant in Chalinxe-Tarwanda, Bagamoyo, Tanzania. According to reports in the Daily Times, the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) is seeking approval from the Pakistani government to establish a new plant in the Haripur area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. President Evo Morales of Bolivia opened the first integrated cement plant in Itacamba at the weekend, in the department of Santa Cruz.
