Nepal-based cement producer Hetauda Cement Factory recorded a profit of NPR40m (US$382,292) in the last fiscal year and is now targeting a profit of NPR200m in the current fiscal thanks in part to higher cement prices. A drop in domestic demand caused by a downturn in government construction projects has triggered a price war among cement producers in Saudi Arabia, according to local newspaper Al-Youm. China Resources Cement (CRC) said its profit attributable to owners for the year ended 31 December 2015 dropped 75.9 per cent YoY to HKD1015m (US$130.8m). The government of Israel has notified Nesher Cement Enterprises Ltd that it must cut prices due to lower-priced inputs, local press have reported.
