Lafarge Ravena to comply with environmental standards, USA

The Lafarge Ravena cement plant is prepared to keep up with national emission standards which may soon become more stringent, according to Ravena Environmental Manager John Reagan. Including its share of the jointly-owned Texas Lehigh Cement, the turnover of Eagle Materials for the financial year to the end of March increased by 8.2% to US$581.2m. Lehigh Cement and Oakbio Inc of Sunnyvale are conducting research that both parties hope can lead to a green partnership. Cementos Argos, Colombia's largest cement producer, posted a net profit in 1Q12 of US$144m, from US$16m a year earlier. Operating revenue was US$587m, the company said in a statement Wednesday to regulators while EBITDA rose 40% last quarter from the same period a year earlier, to $110m.
