Thai producer Siam City Cement Public Co Ltd’s (SCCC) ‘Digital Connected Plant’ plan involves applying digital technology to its cement plants to bring improvements for employees, the company and the nation. The project aims to connect staff, equipment and work processes efficiently through the installation of a ‘pervasive’ wireless network in each area, covering the entire cement plant.

By applying the digital system to its manufacturing process SCCC aims to drive efficiency and cost reductions in plant operations and increase safety. The move is also in line with the Thai government’s 4.0 vision and SCCC’s Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) strategy.
