October last year saw PT Indocement add 4.4Mta of production capacity at a new plant in Citeureup, West Java, taking the company’s total capacity to 25Mta. June this year saw cement consumption on West Java fall by 30.1 per cent, compared to the same period last year, according to figures from the Indonesian Cement Association (ASI). In fact, all regions saw consumption slump last month as the country’s total cement consumption came in 23.8 per cent down on June 2016.
