You must be familiar with Heat and Mass balance exercise.Is it not! It will be therefore interesting to carry out Heat and Mass Balance diagnostic study of total kiln and raw meal preparation system by some competent agency and evolve suitable recommendations to get the appropriate solution.

I endorse your views.

All raw materials are practically received with some moisture and consumed on dry basis while the Inventory lying at various places either in open or close yards is actually wet.Moisture & handling losses play very important role.

Every day or once in fortnight or month moisture corrections needs to be applied to material receipts when they are getting inventoried in the system.In SAP provision is made for its proper accounting;if not it may be checked.

It is impossible, to produce 1000T clinker by losing 2000T raw meal loss on ignition.
