I know the formula for calculating residence time. But in that formula the % Calcination is not a parameter. Hence inspite of  increased calcination by modification (say 5%) the kiln residence time is kept as original. Is there any formula by which the same can be calculated in terms of Calcination already achieved at Kiln Inlet?

What I mean to say is that a Preheater having 90% calcination feeding to Kiln is presently running with 20 minute residence time inside kiln. In case by modifying cyclones  and achieving 95% calcination , how much  the residence time can be reduced ?

I do not know of any such formula. The only way of adjusting the residence
time is via the rotational speed of the kiln. My recommendation would be to
run at maximum rotational speed with a precalciner kiln unless there are
particular combinability problems with the kiln feed.

I doubt it matters much for the residence time. Unless you increase production the gas volume through the kiln will decrease (less CO2 from calcination, less fuel on the main burner), and this will probably mean less dust being returned.
