Dastgir says

Inherent moisture

Dear All,

Is this true that this is the inherent moisture of the coal which renders it the property of spontaneous combustion?

If true, then it is really interesting. Please explain for this paradox.

Re: Inherent moisture

Coals with high inherent moisture are younger coals with higher volatile content. It is not the moisture that renders them susceptible to spontaneous combustion.
