Belize

PDFFull Introduction ReportDownload Here

Belize has a small but open economy, historically focussed on agricultural export products but depending increasingly on tourism and construction. Since 2006, it has also been exporting small quantities of petroleum. With no cement production facilities of its own, the country totally depends on imports from neighbouring countries to meet its cement demand, fluctuating in step with hurricane damage.
