With a raft of new development projects recently announced in the United Arab Emirates on the back of renewed investor confidence, the future for the local construction industry looks promising over the next few years. With a new 4.5Mta works at Al Ain, the UAE’s Arkan Building Material Company is poised to play a significant role. Arkan Building Material Co explains.

The upsurge in new and re-invigorated building projects across the UAE comes after a period of review and consolidation in which investors remained cautious amid turbulent global economic conditions. However, the brakes have been released and many of these projects have been kickstarted in the last six months, particularly in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Driving this building boom are 20,000 hotel rooms in the pipeline across the UAE, the construction of Abu Dhabi’s new international airport and the much-anticipated Saadiyat Island cultural precinct in Abu Dhabi which recently announced the successful bidder for the Louvre development.
