Dependency: Part 2

In the second of a two-part Technical Forum Dr Clark continues his exploration of the complex dependencies involved in delivering a successful cement project. The fictional cement company, Ruritania Cement, is used to illustrate those dependencies from the placing of a contract and the contract-effective date to the day when the first cement is delivered to a customer from the cement plant.

This was indeed a proud moment for Ruritania Cement, even though it was more than six years since

the owner had first conceived the 8000tpd cement plant project to serve Ruritania’s market

Mr Entrepreneur, one of the richest people in Ruritania, and indeed the continent of Pangea, looked on with pleasure as the first truck loaded with cement rolled out of the packing plant of his new cement factory on its way to one of his customers. This was indeed a proud moment for Ruritania Cement, even though it was more than six years since the owner had first conceived the project to establish a cement company manufacturing and selling 8000tpd of cement into Ruritania’s cement market.
