A new multi-fuel burner has enabled CRH’s Rohoznik plant in Slovakia to further increase its alternative fuel substitution rate. The cement works raised its solid recovered fuel (SRF) use to 80 per cent thanks to the new jetflex burner supplied by FLSmidth. By Mads Nielsen and Carsten Damslund Jensen, FLSmidth, Denmark.

At CRH’s Rohoznik cement plant in Slovakia, the JETFLEX® kiln burner has now been in operation on the plant’s 3500tpd clinker line since early February 2016. The many features built into the burner for optimising reliability, availability and fuel substitution have been tested with solid and convincing results. The new burner has enabled Rohoznik to meet its objective of high alternative fuels substitution, improved clinker quality and energy efficiency.
