The 2018 IEEE-IAS/PCA Cement Industry Technical Conference will be held between 6-10 May in Nashville, Tennessee. Therefore, the timing is right for ICR to visit Graceland and examine the recent developments in the nearby southern US cement markets. By Rob Roy Economic Consulting, USA.

The US Census Bureau defines the US South as the states running from Texas in the west all the way to the District of Columbia (DC) Area in the northeast and Florida in the southeast. It further subdivides the South into three regions:
• West South Central: Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas
• East South Central: Alabama, Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee
• South Atlantic: Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North and South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
