Yamama on track to the future

Designed for a clinker capacity of 20,000tpd, Yamama Cement Company’s new plant complex is currently the largest cement project in the Middle East. Construction on Yamama Cement’s new 20,000tpd plant at Alhalal Alshamalia, Saudi Arabia, is well under way

Yamama Cement, one of the oldest and largest cement companies in Saudi Arabia, is relocating its manufacturing facilities. Its production site is currently in Riyadh, but soon a new plant complex will go into operation 80km east of the capital. Its two production lines will have a total capacity of 6.6Mta of clinker and 7Mta of cement. Its dimensions alone make the project something special: some 68,000t of deliveries, 43,500t of structural steel and 305,000m³ of concrete are part of the project’s requirements. The perimeter fence is 12km long, not including the limestone quarry. The construction project is currently the biggest in Saudi Arabia.
