Mastering the digital transformation of the cement manufacturing and distribution process is one of the primary technology challenges for our sector today.

Advances in technologies, from sensors and cloud computing, to artificial intelligence and remote plant operation, broadly referred to as Industry 4.0, all have a growing role in the cement plant.

When correctly applied, these technologies can enable unprecedented efficiency while also supporting the industry to achieve its targets for greater sustainability, including the reduction of resource consumption and lower carbon emissions.

One of the most significant challenges at the moment is the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown of many countries. In this scenario, digitalisation offers flexibility and resilience for cement producers who are able to automate or operate assets remotely.
