UltraTech Cement - May 2017


UltraTech Cement expects cement demand in India to grow by 4-6 per cent in the next fiscal, according to Managing Director, KK Maheshwari. Speaking to the Indian press, he said that housing, which currently accounts for over 60 per cent of cement demand in the country, will continue to drive growth going forward. Government spending on infrastructure, which represents 20-25 per cent of demand, will add further impetus with investments in roads, highways and irrigation already announced. He did point out, however, that consumption is fragmented across the country with the east and south regions enjoying the highest levels of demand.
