Semen Indonesia - November 2017


In October 2017 Semen Indonesia sold 2.9Mt of cement, an 11.8 per cent increase on the same month last year. The domestic market claimed 2.77Mt of this with exports taking the remainder. Domestic sales were up 8.8 per cent compared to October 2016, while exports grew by 131.2 per cent.

Looking at total sales, Semen Gresik accounted for the majority of sales with 1.56Mt in October 2017, up 13 per cent YoY, followed by Semen Padang with 758,326t (up 8.5 per cent YoY) and Semen Tonasa with 592,633t, an increase of 12.8 per cent.

These latest results take Semen Indonesia’s sales for January-October 2017 to 23.96Mt, up 9.3 per cent YoY. Domestic sales grew by 4.6 per cent to reach 22.16Mt, while exports leapt by 216.5 per cent to 1.53Mt. Semen Gresik dominated domestic sales over the 10-month period with 12.56Mt, an increase of 9.2 per cent YoY, but the company recorded no exports. Semen Padang sold 5.28Mt of cement domestically and exported 940,819t. Semen Tonasa sold 4.32Mt in the local market, representing a 4.1 per cent decline, but its exports expanded by 436.8 per cent to 590,158t.
