FLAME
Hi there
I have a questin for the flame.
How the secondary air effect the flame?
How can i see in my kiln, if there is circulating gaseous in the flame.
Does the secondary air influence in the strength of the flame?
Is there any book where i can find some solutions?
thank you and have e nice day.

Re: FLAME
The hotter the secondary air the more difficult it is to entrain the required volume of combustion air into the flame. You should be able to see that the flame is compact due to recirculation. The secondary air certainly affects the sterngth of the flame. I suggest the Cement Plant Operation Handbook from International Cement Review.

Re: FLAME
Secondary air has a large effect on the flame and on the quality. Some plants use a special system to control the cooler (secondary air) together with digital image analysis of the flame to see and influence the effects.
Sec. air influences a lot the plum length and this effects ignition point and thus quality (believe it or not, our customers were astonished about the significancy of this effect too). Thus a lot of the cement plants now are going for the new Side Thermography to analyse the plum length and react to it with the burner settings.
