Mexico sees slight increases in cement prices

The monthly price survey conducted by Cemex for June shows an increase of 
0.4 per cent per month (+3.3 per cent YoY) in the average regional retail price of in Mexico, approximately MXP114/ 50kg of cement (US$9.6).


The variation in price across regions was mixed, with a monthly increase of two
percent in Mexico City and one percent in Monterrey, Tijuana and Guadalajara.
During the month, Merida remained unchanged, and Chihuahua and Aguascalientes dropped one per cent. The increase of 3.3 per cent per year in local currency terms  was equivalent to an increase of 13.6 per cent in dollars, due to the peso appreciation.



The index of producer prices in May in Mexico (published June 9 by the INEGI) reported monthly increases of 0.2 per cent in the prices of concrete and 0.3 per cent declines in cement prices.
