UNICEM cuts prices, Nigeria

United Cement Company of Nigeria (UNICEM), has slashed the price of a bag of cement from over NGN2000 (US$12.8) in the region to NGN1600 (US$10.30).

Sales Director, William Anam, who made this disclosure in a statement issued in Calabar, said the decision to slash the price is in line with the directive of President Goodluck Jonathan.

The company  also plans to increase its current production capacity from 1.3Mt to 1.8Mt this year and a further projection of 2.5Mt by 2012.
