Croatian Dalmacijacement to invest EUR5.1m by end-2008
26 June 2007

Croatian cement producer Dalmacijacement, part of Cemex, will invest EUR5.1m (US$6.9m) in its cement plant in Sveti Juraj by the end of 2008.

Of the total, EUR3.8m will go for installing a special filter, which will lead to a reduction in dust emission.

Dalmacijacement, which operates three cement plants in Croatia, said a similar filter was installed at its Sveti Kajo cement plant in 2006, and its third cement plant, 10 kolovoz, will be equipped with such a filter by the end of 2007. Sveti Juraj is located in Kastel Sucurac, southern Croatia, on the Adriatic coast.

Dalmacijacement will also invest EUR105,000  in a number of smaller projects aimed at upgrading its Sveti Juraj plant, including reconstruction of the filter at the device for loading clinker to ships. Some of the projects will be completed by the end of 2008.
