Cement production in Argentina falls by 2.1% in March

The cement production in Argentina has fallen by 2.1% in March, in comparison with the same month of 2006, and a 4.6% in comparison with February 2007, due to a deceleration of the construction sector.  
 
The factories produced 710,943t, including exports, in March.  
 
According to sector’s analysts, the fall in construction activity affects directly to the cement market. Among the factors of the deceleration exists the increase in the costs of the manpower.  
 
The cement market in Argentina is led by Loma Negra, under the control of the Brazilian group Camargo Correa, and Minetti, with participation higher than 80 per cent.
