Sales volume at Caribbean Cement Company Limited since the start of the year has declined when compared to 2005. The company is reporting that year-to-date sales have amounted to 571,000t down from 583,000t for the corresponding period last year.

In the meantime, the Ministry of Commerce says 24,000 tonnes of cement will be made available to the construction sector this week. 16,000t will be produced by Caribbean Cement while the remainder will be imported from Cuba.
