Working almost at their peak capacity, 20 Pakistan cement units of the country produced 1.724Mt of cement during March, which is 130,000t more than the February production.  According to the production data for March, made available to Business Recorder here on Monday, out of 1.724Mt of cement, 1.546Mt was provided to the local market, while 0.177Mt was exported to Afghanistan and the Middle Eastern countries. 
 
 The data shows that Lucky Cement Limited dispatched the largest quantity of 231,364t among all cement the units in Pakistan, which was 15.9 per cent of the total dispatches of Northern Zone and 13.4 per cent of the total dispatches in both the zones. 
 
 Executive Director of Lucky Cement AR Thaplawala said that of the exported cement, Lucky Cement’s share was the largest, ie 23 per cent, which would further increase with the commissioning of its new line in Karachi, due to start production during this month.
