Belarus cement exports

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said Thursday that he supports a government proposal to increase the export of Belarusian goods to Moscow. The president’s press office said the goods were primarily construction materials and light industry and food products.

Moscow is interested in increasing supplies of construction materials, for example aggregates, and cement, the press office quoted the president as saying. At a meeting with Lukashenko Thursday, Belarusian Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky discussed an agreement reached with Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov that stipulates a meeting between the sides in Moscow before January 20 to ratify a joint action plan for 2006.
