Portland launches sales drive
29 November 2005

The East African Portland Cement company yesterday launched a Sh24 million campaign to advance its penetration of the local cement market. The end user promotion runs until February next year. Managing Director Zakayo Ole Mapelu said the company would use the drive to enhance its relationship with customers as well as win new ones.

To participate, consumers are required to buy a 25 kg or a 50 kg bag of cement from which they will get coupons that must be filled and returned to EAPC. The grand winner will walk away with a Sh2 million house and a land title deed. "The house is situated in Athi River and is among the many prices to be won in 10 draws to be held countrywide,"Ole Mapelu said. EAPC is reported as Kenya’s largest cement manufacturer with 35.2 per cent of the market share.
