Titan America plans cement terminal expansion
21 March 2005

Titan America LLC will spend US$15m adding to its cement terminal at the Port of Tampa, the company announced Friday. Titan plans to build a facility for slag grinding, in which the residue from steel manufacturing is incorporated into cement products. The resource is expected to be available for delivery by 2007. The facility will serve customers within the Ocala, Orlando and Naples areas, Hardy Johnson, president of Titan America Florida said in a media release. Titan America, a cement and building materials producer, completed its import terminal at Hooker Point in November 2004. The first ship arrived to port in December.
