Cement demand in Spain dropped 0.19 per cent year-on-year to 3.4Mt in January 2005, the Spanish Cement Makers Association (OFICEMEN) said on February 16, 2005. Cement production in Spain increased by 9.5 per cent year-on-year to 3.4Mt in January 2005. Imports for the period fell by 41.4 per cent year-on-year to 374,689t, while exports dropped by 1.2 per cent year-on-year to 111,089 tonnes in January 2005.
In the 12 months to January 2005, cement demand in Spain stood at 47.9Mt, a 3.4 per cent year-on-year rise. Cement production for the period between February 2004 and January 2005 stood at 46.6Mt, up 3.8 per cent year-on-year, exports rose 17.2 per cent year-on-year to 1.5Mt and imports dropped 8.8 per cent to 7.45Mt
