Apasco looks to moderate growth in 2005
27 December 2004

Mexican cement maker Holcim Apasco expects sales to grow up to 2.5 per cent in 2005, local press quoted spokesperson Gustavo Gastelum as saying. "For 2005 we expect a year similar to 2004, not much more dynamic in terms of premixed concrete demand," he said.

The company expects to produce some 7Mt of cement this year, of which roughly 75 per cent is sold in bags and 25 per cent in bulk. For 2004, the company has focused on increasing operational efficiency to offset higher costs while cement pricing was stagnant.
