The Ecuadorian Cement company La Cemento Nacional has changed its name to Holcim Ecuador. The Swiss group Holcim entered La Cemento in 1976 as a minority shareholder, but since October 5th the multinational, through its subsidiary in Ecuador, holds a 77 per cent stake in the company. Holcim has invested US$7.5m in the acquisition and set up of two machines, each one with capacity to pack 3600 sacks of cements per hour, or 3000t per day. Published under Cement News
