Turkish cement and clinker producer and distributor Lafarge Aslan Cimento will invest a total $10.4m in output increase and occupational safety in the the period 2005 to 2007, it was reported on September 21, 2004.  Of the total, $3.5m are earmarked for investments in occupational safety and $6.5m for the increase of clinker and cement production.

Lafarge Aslan Cimento, which has invested some $100m in Turkey, plans to produce 1.158Mt of clinker and 1.1Mt of cement in 2004. The company’s 2005 output is to go up to 1.16Mt of clinker and 1.12Mt of cement. Lafarge Aslan Cimento plans to export 130,000t of clinker and 140,000t of cement in 2004.

Founded in 1911, Lafarge Aslan Cimento, was bought by French building materials producer Lafarge in 1989. Lafarge Turkey, the Turkish division of Lafarge, has four cement and four grinding plants in addition to three aggregate quarries and 25 ready mix concrete plants.
