Holcim Romania Reshuffles Management

Holcim Romania, a unit of Swiss cement company Holcim, undergoes management changes as part of plans for further increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of operations by introducing new organisational structures in Europe, starting September 2004.  Kurt Habersatter, the president of Holcim Romania, will take the position of general manager for Holcim’s eastern European operations, taking over responsibility for nine countries, including Romania.  Mr. Habersatter joined Holcim in 1995 as consultant in alternative fuel projects. His educational background includes a PhD in technical sciences and an Executive Management Program at the Stanford University, USA.  Markus Wirth is the new country manager of Holcim Romania. Wirth comes from the position of integration manager for Serbia and Montenegro.  Raul Monsalve, currently CFO of Holcim Romania, will become chief financial officer for eastern Europe and Albert Szabo, currently aggregates and ready-mix director at Holcim Romania, will become country manager of Holcim Croatia.
Holcim Romania operates three cement plants, located in Turda, Campulung and Alesd, 13 ready-mixed concrete plants and three aggregates plants.
