Garadagh sets new prices

Garadagh sets new prices
16 August 2004

Garadagh Cement declared the new recommended prices of cement for the attention of the dealers. Azer-press reports that the recommended prices in Baku are AzM 18 thousand per standard sack (50 kg) of the Ì400 cement and AzM 16.5 thousand per standard sack (50 kg) of the Ì300 cement. The recommended prices in Sumgait are AzM 18.5 thousand per standard sack of the M400 cement and AzM 17 thousand per standard sack of Ì300.

The recommended prices in the provinces of the country will vary depending on the mileage, simply put, the distance that must be covered to carry cement from the plant to the province in question. The new (and higher) retail prices are recommended in connection with the fact that the agreement about the weights and sizes of transport means employed for international haulage by the CIS motorways is in effect since 21 May this year.

’Under that agreement, it is prohibited to use the motor vehicles weighing more than twelve tonnes (counting with the load) for haulage. Garadagh Cement used to operate the 20-25-tonne vehicles to carry cement and the new limitations will cause the transportation costs to rise’, explained a representative of the company.
