Iran could import 1.0Mt of cement in the next three months, Deputy Minister of Industries and Mines, Djafar Sarkini said on April 7, 2004.  The Iranian Government set a 1.5Mt cement import quota for the Iranian calendar year, ended March 19, 2004. However, the country imported only 100,000t of cement over the period. The domestic demand for cement is expected to peak in the period from April to June 2004, Sarkini added.
