Thang Long Cement plans to increase exports, Vietnam
29 August 2012

Vietnam-based producer Thang Long Cement JSC plans to double monthly cement exports to Cambodia from its Hiep Phuoc grinding plant to 10,000 due to increased demand in the neighbouring market.

Since the start of this year, the company has shipped around 5000t and 2000t of cement to Cambodia and Indonesia, respectively from the grinding facility, according to the company’s director Mai Anh Tai. Thang Long Cement plans to export around a further 150,000t of cement to these two markets between now and the end of the year.

The 1.3Mta Hiep Phuoc grinding plant, located in Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park, Nha Be district, has just marked the production of 1Mt of cement one year on from being put into operation in July 2011.

The company's exports have helped ease Vietnam’s surplus and Thang Long plans to invest more to increase the grinding plant’s capacity to 3Mta to meet exports and domestic demand when the local construction industry recovers.

Thang Long also operates a 2.3Mta integrated cement works in Hoang Bo district in the northern province of Quang Ninh. Currently the company is boosting its exports to Myanmar, Bangladesh and some African countries.
