Cement production in Ukraine in November 2013 increased by 16.2 per cent YoY to 816,000t, while in the previous month the decline was 2.2 per cent compared to October 2012, the State Statistics Service (SSS) reported.
According to the SSS, compared to October 2013, cement production in November 2013 fell by 13.7 per cent. In January-November 2013, cement production in the country decreased by 1.4 per cent compared to January-November 2012, to 9.33Mt.
As reported, in 2012 cement production in Ukraine decreased by 6.8 per cent compared to 2011, to 9.80Mt, while in 2011 there was an increase of 11.2 per cent on 2010.
Petro Lopatyev, Ukrcement Association executive director, previously predicted that cement production in Ukraine in 2013 would continue to decline and that by the end of the year this figure could reach 5-7 per cent compared to 2012. Thus, according to him, domestic cement production in 2013 will reach about 9.1-9.3Mt.
