With the inauguration of its upgraded production unit on 17 June 2014 in the presence of the country’s industry, energy and mines, Kamel Bennaceur, Tunisia’s Ciments de Bizerte has increased its capacity by 50 per cent to more than 1.5Mta.
The upgrade is the result of a TND250m (US$149m) investment programme which was initiated three years ago. It includes a modernisation of the plant’s dust control systems which will lower emissions to 20mg/Nm3.
