Belgium-based Compagnie des Ciments Belges SA (CCB), part of Cementir Holding , is upgrading Kiln 4 at its Gaurain plant. Sagar Cements to commission new clinker line

Sagar Cements plans to commission its new clinker line at Andhra Cements Ltd (ACL) during the current quarter. This forms part of an INR4580m (US$55.6m) investment programme by Sagar Cements to upgrade Andhra Cements’ capacities from 1.65Mta to 2.3Mta of clinker and from 1.8Mta to 3Mta of cement. Wellington Terminal in New Zealand is getting a NZD$10m (US$6.45m) upgrade aimed at increasing its shipping capacity and reducing its CO 2   footprint. Arabian Cement faces mill project delay at Rabigh plant

Arabian Cement Co said its new cement mill project at the Rabigh plant has been delayed by 150 days and will now be completed in the 4Q21. The delay was due to contractor China National Building Materials Corp being unable to travel to Saudi Arabia to complete the installation and commissioning work because of coronavirus travel restrictions.

Maweni Limestone upgrades kiln line

Huaxin Cement’s Maweni Limestone subsidiary has ignited the kiln and begun trial production at its recently-upgraded 0.75Mta plant. Huaxin Cement acquired the Tanzanian company in May this year and began work on the kiln line on 1 June. The grinding section of the facility is not expected to be upgraded. Subject to developments related to the COVID-19 pandemic, Huaxin is now planning to send a management team to implement the advanced cement process technology, according to reports.

HeidelbergCement India has completed two debottlenecking projects at Imlai, Madya Pradesh, and Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. The grinding capacity of these plants has been raised to 2.5Mta and 3.25Mta at Imlai and Jhansi, respectively. Cemex completes Castillejo access work

Cemex has finalised the upgrade work on the access roads to the Huerta de Valdecarábanos quarry and the crushing area of its Castillejo plant in Toledo. The company placed some 450m 3 of rolled compacted concrete (RCC) to prevent dust and mud emission as well as improving access for vehicles.
